Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched the National Scheme ‘Young, Upcoming and Versatile Authors’ (YUVA) to encourage children to use and encourage their writing skills.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched the National Plan ‘Young, Upcoming and Versatile Authors’ (YUVA) to assist children use and encourage their writing skills. Sharing a link to the scheme on Twitter, PM Modi said, "Here is a stimulating opportunity for the youth to use their writing skills and contribute to India's intellectual discourse."

The purpose of this scheme is to coach 75 aspiring writers under the age of 30, who can bring with them India and its culture and literature globally. Under this mentorship, a scholarship of Rs. 50,000 per month are going to be given to the chosen author for six months. Find out how the choice are going to be done

- a complete of 75 authors are going to be selected through an all-India competition on MyGov.

- This selection are going to be made by a committee constituted by NBT.

- The competition will run from June 4 to July 31, 2021.

- Young writers participating under the mentorship scheme will need to submit a manuscript (in book form) in 5000 words for evaluation.

- The names of the chosen young writers are going to be announced on 15th August 2021 Independence Day .

- The author selected on the idea of mentorship will prepare the manuscript for the ultimate selection under the guidance of nominated mentors.

- The works of the winners are going to be ready for publication by 15th December 2021.

- Published books could also be released on 12 January 2022 on Youth Day i.e. National Youth Day.

The National Book Trust (NBT) will host a web writers' program for 2 weeks for selected candidates. within the meantime the young writers are going to be trained by two eminent writers from the NBT panel. After the completion of the two-week online writers' program, the writers are going to be trained for two weeks in various online / onsite national camps organized by NBT.

Young writers will have the chance to expand their understanding and improve their skills through communication at various international events like literary festivals, book fairs, virtual fairs, cultural exchange programs, etc. At the top of the mentorship, under the mentorship scheme, the author are going to be given a consolidated scholarship of Rs. 50,000 per month for six months. As a results of the mentorship program, NBT, India will publish a book or a series of books written by young writers. At the top of the mentorship program, authors will receive a ten percent royalty on successful publication of their books.

Published books also will be translated into other languages of India. Jazzy will make sure the exchange of culture and literature between different states and thus promote a far better India.
